This conceptual landscape renovation was developed for a custom residence in Hillsborough, New Jersey, with the goal of enhancing the home's modern farmhouse architecture through a clean, timeless planting design. The landscape emphasizes strong foundation planting, layered textures, and year-round visual interest while maintaining an elegant and low-maintenance aesthetic.

The design features a balanced composition of evergreen screening, ornamental trees, flowering perennials, and ornamental grasses that soften the home's architecture and frame the main entrance. Natural stone edging and decorative river rock create crisp planting bed definitions, while the plant palette provides seasonal color, texture, and structure throughout the year.

Carefully selected species—including Arborvitae, Japanese Stewartia, Blue Spruce, Boxwood, Lavender, Nepeta, and ornamental grasses—offer four-season appeal while remaining well-suited to New Jersey's climate. The result is a refined residential landscape that complements the architecture, enhances curb appeal, and creates a welcoming arrival experience with long-term sustainability and ease of maintenance.
